How it Works

PREFLIGHT

The goal of integration of care is a dynamic one. We are constantly striving to find ways to integrate mental and physical health in a way that is beneficial and supportive to providers, patients, and business. With years of experience in this unique field, Integrated Care Institute will work with you to develop a plan of integration that works best for your medical practice.

The vehicle of integration that transports us to healthcare and business goals is communication. Communication is an integral part of the relationship between your medical practice and Integrated Care Institute.

So it is only right that we begin that relationship with a discussion about your goals and what ICI can offer you to support achieving those goals.

The relationship between ICI and the medical practice is a symbiotic relationship. We don’t charge you for having the valuable resource of a mental health provider on-site and you don’t charge us for the space and referrals.

TAKE-OFF

Establishment of the integrated care relationship is key, here are some elements to expect:

ICI takes care of all hiring, billing, and insurance contracting. Your MHP will start providing care as soon as possible and we will begin the contracting process with all of the major insurance payors including Tricare and Medicaid.

Here are some things we need from you:

Commitment to integration: we understand that changing workflows is not awesome and that’s why implementation of your MHP is as low impact as possible. Your practice and ICI together will come up with an effective and efficient way to facilitate referrals and maintain communication, both clinical and administrative. You are working with ICI because you know that mental health integration is good for your providers and your patients and you will see that benefit with committed implementation.

EHR Access: When your providers know what’s going on in the mental health side and your MHP knows what’s going on in the medical side a better healthcare service is provided.

CRUISE

Communication is a key element of your relationship with ICI. Clinical - your MHP will provide regular written updates on their patients and sometimes the most valuable information sharing can happen in “drive-by consults”. Administrative - The practice manager and Ari Hoffman, Director of ICI, will be in touch on a regular scheduled basis to discuss issues related to referrals, workflow, staffing, etc.

Your MHP is getting both admin support from ICI in the form of billing, payments, and maintenance of insurance contracts; and clinical support from ICI in the form of monthly clinical consultation meetings attended by other ICI MHP’s and Ari Hoffman, who along with being the director of ICI is also a veteran integrated care therapist.
